Good morning everyone and welcome to another week of learning at (virtual) J.B.

Just in case any of you are missing our singing assemblies, Mrs Ward has organised her choir to provide you with one to enjoy from home.  Get those air guitars ready and sing along.  It's a great way to start your day.

To the children of John Bramston

They all deserve an applause.
These little heroes have stayed indoors more than they’ve ever known in their lives.
Their whole worlds have literally been turned upside down.
All these rules they’ve never known.
A life they couldn’t have imagined.
All the things they love like sports, being with friends, going to school, or just being children have all been taken away from them.
Adults talking about others becoming unwell, news reporting death after death.
Our pupils’ minds must be racing.
Every day they get up despite all that’s going on.
So here’s to our little heroes of JB: today, tomorrow and forever! 😊

We hope you are all keeping safe during this difficult time.

Everyone is working hard at the moment to make the school safe so that we can welcome back the students, we hope sooner rather than later.

We'd like to share with you a story from the author John Burgerman.  The story is called Everybody Worries and it has a message that resonates at this specific moment in time.

Know that everyone at school is missing you all and that we are looking forward to the time when it is safe enough for us all to be together again.

Stay safe and take care.

Speak Out, Stay Safe

Dear Parents/Carers

We would like as many of our pupils as possible to watch the @NSPCC#speakoutstaysafe assembly with their families at 9.30am tomorrow morning (5th June 2020). It will have some very important messages and will be available on the NSPCC Youtube channel and via their Facebook page.

The assembly will kick off with a special message from TV presenters Ant & Dec, and a special appearance from comedian and children's books author David Walliams, followed by advise and support from the NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe team and a Q & A with Vicky Ford MP, Minister for Children and Families, featuring questions from children.

The content of the assembly will be aimed at children aged 7-11 years old (KS2), and it will focus on anxiety, including the worries that children are facing right now, why they may feel anxious or worried and ways they could be supported, for example, reaching out to a trusted adult or calling Childline.

Make sure you tune in and spread the word about it/share it among friends, family and any teachers that you know.

Roll up, roll up! Who wants to win some medals? Watch the video and read the letter regarding our UKA Virtual Sports Day -

24th June 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,

Online Sports Day

Unfortunately Sports Day will not be taking place this year.  To try and get into that sporty JB spirit, we would love it if you could join us for a virtual sports day.

There are 3 events – running, throwing and jumping. There are instructional videos on the school blog that explains each event.  Once your children have completed their event you need to email your scores to – UKAsports@hotmail.com

In your email you must include: Childs full name, School name, Year group and Class and Scores for running, throwing and jumping.

Please send your scores in between Monday 29th June and Friday 3rd July.

Medals will be sent out in the post for children who have the best scores.

Have fun and happy throwing, running and jumping!

Yours faithfully,

Miss Houghton and Mr. McDonald
